Garland light by Tord Boontje in my house

“Tord Boontje, recently named designer of the year by the Design Museum and Elle Decoration UK, explores the juxtaposition between old and new, as well as naturalism and technology, with these fantastical lights.”

The flower pattern comes in different colours and can be fold in any way. The light makes wonderful shades and shapes in my house.

Dimarco Ferrao, design d’intérieur, Montréal

Sergio Dimarco et Nia Ferrao ont créé le design de L’académie à Anjou (je m’éterniserai pas sur la pauvre qualité de la nourriture qu’on y sert…). Je voulais simplement souligner la balance que crée l’éclairage dans ce restaurant, particulièrement ces énormes lumières  qui pendent sur les 2 étages.

As usual, when someone adds me in his/her “friend’s” list in flickr I received a email of notice. This time, it was Danielle de Lange. And I was amazed by the beautiful collection of information she gathered about interior design. She, herself, is a interior design stylist, working and living in the Netherlands. Her blog is a huge resource on the subject and covers innovative ideas from around the world. It’s a must-see blog: the style file.

Les stylistes de Zara Home m’ont charmés par la douceur de leurs agencements pour le printemps/été 2007. La blancheur est de toute beauté. C’est inspirant.

En voici qui valent la peine

J’ai décidé d’offrir quelques coup de coeur en architecture et design d’intérieur à Montréal question de faire un post un peu plus positif. Comme quoi oser un peu ça vaut la peine et ça donne des résultats qui embellit notre ville.

Je ne passerai pas à côté de la Grande Bibliothèque qui offre une lumière éblouissante dans toute la bâtisse.

Je signalerai aussi l’hotel W pour sa lumière artificielle cette fois-ci, la constance du bleu dans toute la décoration intérieur.

Un incontournable : le foyer de l’Hotel St-Paul. Il faut absolument le voir en vrai.
C’est une pièce de toute beauté.

Le Palais des Congrès pour avoir oser mettre de la couleur dans une ville qui peut être très grise pendant presque 6 mois par année!

C’est un bon début.

Je note que la lumière est un critère qui me plaît particulièrement puisque c’est un attrait commun à toutes mes propositions ci-haut…

Amalia, New York, I love wallpaper

Wallpapers are so trendy. I can’t imagine that in my own flat, because I like more pure and simple designs for myself. But I like the effect of them on walls. This pictures particulary reflect the perfect harmony of the wall and the rest of the room.
