Beautification
February 10th, 2008
I often read about aesthetics because I think my work is a lot related to that (it’s not about pretending that I create beautiful art….;). But looking around wikipedia, I found a link from aesthetic to beautification. I found the word really interesting, and thought it was related to art… but it’s more about architecture and urbanism, which is very good to know :
Beautification is the process of making visual improvements in a town or city, typically to an urban area. This most often involves planting trees, shrubbery, and other greenery, but frequently also includes adding decorative or historic-style street lights and other lighting, and replacing broken pavement, often with brick or other natural materials.
