As I started working more and more (and thinking a lot about it too) about designs for walls, I noticed that maybe I didn’t explain more precisely what I was doing and why.
After my last exhibition at the end of April, I understood a lot of things:
- that my work as an artist is not enough to get all my ideas out in the world.
- that I loved to see my work printed in really big sizes.
I also discovered that I really enjoy interior design and architecture. But I’m not an interior designer. And surely not an architect. What I enjoy about designs it’s the 2D accent that I can add in an environment. Which I decided (maybe temporary) to call wall design.
I want to make unique images that create a balance in a room, that add the little something that was missing to make it complete. I wand to create graphic art in a way that really fits in an environment.
It can be framed in any way, it can be glued to a wall or any furniture or it can be a complete surface like a wallpaper.
So I’m going to post from time to time experiments I’m doing on existing designs to show my creative ideas and hopefully make them real too.
Hope you enjoy, and if you want to commission a special request, send me an email!

As usual, when someone adds me in his/her “friend’s” list in flickr I received a email of notice. This time, it was Danielle de Lange. And I was amazed by the beautiful collection of information she gathered about interior design. She, herself, is a interior design stylist, working and living in the Netherlands. Her blog is a huge resource on the subject and covers innovative ideas from around the world. It’s a must-see blog: the style file.

Well, there is some design initiative in Montréal, one of them is the new Places d’Armes.
Found in Design Montréal’s web site :
“In fall 2007, the city will hold a urban design workshop titled “Imagining Place d’Armes” to prepare for the redevelopment of Place d’Armes, one of the projects in Montréal’s three-year capital works program.
The goal of the workshop is to renew the way we see this highly symbolic part of Montréal, enrich its proposed development, strive for greater recognition of Montréal as a UNESCO City of Design and enhance the city’s reputation.”

Looking for creative talent in Montreal? Check out this architect with outstanding control of space and raw materials : Henri Cleinge. If you’re looking for some of his work, check out the Réservoir (9 Duluth East) or the Itsi Bitsy pastries.

“Today, Berlin is the world’s playground for creative expression. The city’s available space, low rents, support of artistic freedom and large design-hungry audience make it easier to put together experimental projects in the German capital than anywhere else. That’s why creatives from around the world come to Berlin to do work, have a ball and get inspired.” (Die Gestalten, newsletter)
Wow! “support of artistic freedom and large design-hungry audience”… un rêve…
