A daydream is a form of consciousness that involves a low level of conscious activity. Daydreaming generally comprises a fantasy while awake. Often, the daydream takes the form of a train of thought, leading the daydreamer away from being aware of his or her immediate surroundings, and concentrating more and more on these new directions of thought. Often when recalling daydreams, people say they were not conscious of what was going on around them. For instance, they cannot remember what they were looking at, if anything, while they were daydreaming or they cannot remember who was saying what and what they were saying. (see daydream in wikipedia)
Raise your hand if you don’t daydream. Aaaah liar ;)
I’m sure that almost everyone does it from time to time. I say it’s good to mentally disappear for some minutes, it helps to concentrate on ourselves, think about what we desire, imagine how it will be. But it has to help you moving forward to reach yours goals and your dreams. It can be tempting to daydream all the time, escape from reality. Nan, wrong. It can be cool while your in the daydream state-of-mind, but once you come back to reality, it’s even worst if you stayed too long.
Maybe daydreams help you develop your imagination too. So I guess it’s not too bad. ;)

Some old montages I did in 2004. It’s good to take a look back. Good way to see if I manage to improve my art. Surely it shows how much I like close-ups, and black and white as texture. I think now I go much more deeper in my work. More levels and more layers.

Rojo’s images are coming along well. I had so much fun doing the photoshoot (thanks so much to my model!). The montage I’m doing right now is also pure fun. I feel lucky and happy. ;)

I was reading the new edition (#42) of Giant Robot magazine and found an interesting article about art galleries in the Philippines. In Manila, galleries are located in shopping malls. Nothing fancy and chic or snob. It’s right there among the people. Gallery openings happen every two weeks or even more. Isn’t that cool? What a great way to show artists’ work. What a great way to show everybody that art isn’t just for a small “special” crowd. It surely is to a certain extend, you have to be open for it. How many galleries I wasn’t willing to visit ’cause they seem too..empty and.. snob?
I think there is more and more art/design centered web sites and magazines showing great art worldwide, why can’t I find galleries like that in Montréal. Maybe you know something that I don’t? … let me know…
’cause it seems like my art isn’t really art. I’m influenced by design, illustration and web. My art is a reflection of all of this and new technologies wihtout being interactive. So, hum… where can I exhibit my work in my own town?
