It’s spring time finally in Montreal. This week has been like a renaissance.
My creativity is back with the sun. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about art in my life lately. First, I miss it. I was blocked almost all winter… and god knows how the winter is long in Montreal. I thought about what I do, want to do, need to do and don’t know where to start. So I’m still in the questionning process before going anywhere. I bought a book from Sark which is a good start for procastinator like me ;) and give me reasons to stop and think about me! I start a little notebook to write down .. my creative dreams, my fears, everything that could be help throught the creative process.
Some stuff that I found about what an aritst needs (by Dr.Paris) :
Strength: Feeling Special and Great. An artist finds the strength to create through feeling special, recognized, and appreciated by others.
Inspiration: Having a Hero. An artist finds motivation and inspiration to create through admiring, respecting, and hoping to please a parent, teacher, mentor, or idol.
Comfort: Being Like Others. An artist finds comfort through the creative process by feeling understood and understandable by others who are “in the same boat.”
Also, I think I find that I don’t have any “title”… don’t call me an artist, don’t call me a designer, neither a photographer. I’m kind of all of the above and it can’t be divised in any way. I just love all doing any kind of visual. It’s a good start about knowing more who I really am and what I want to do.

Amazing tragic sci-fi style pictures here.
Gunkanjima-island is formally called as “Hashima island”, which places takashima-cho, Nagasaki prefecture. It was only small reef, but it had developed for mining coal since 1870’s. Its population was 5,000 at peak, and they built many high apartment. Thus it looked like a warship, so we call this island “Gunkanjima” (warship island). However it was closed at 1974, and it changed ruins now.

Speaking of spring, i just found a lovely flashy and floral web site called Utowa.

Poof! J’ai hâte de revivre.

Check out this nice article about japanese fonts.
“…and a professional calligrapher (called Hikkou in Japanese)!? The Hikkou is in charge of the all handwritten materials such as banners for a party, wedding cards, the direction board for an event and so on. Wow, I didn’t know that such a profession exists!”
