Sofia Coppola + Marie Antoinette
Une artiste inspirante pour sa simplicité, son “humanité” et son originalité, Sofia Coppola s’est tout de suite démarqué des autres réalisateurs. Elle laisse une grande place à l’acteur, ce qui permet de développer et de connaître les personnages. Sa signature visuelle m’interpèle totalement puisqu’elle permet toujours de se concentrer sur un sujet à la fois, un peu comme une photographie. Sans tomber dans les clichés, elle est quand même femme de son temps. Son nouveau film s’annonce comme une fraîcheur et une nouveauté dans les films d’époque grâce à son caractère moderne dû à la musique ‘80 de New Order. Un mariage étrange, mais tout à fait up-to-date. Teaser de Marie Antoinette ici.

Fresh Fruits - Japan Fashion
Published every month by Shoichi Aoki, who is also the sole photographer for the magazine, Fruits was established in 1994 as a project to document the growing explosion in street fashion within the suburbs of Tokyo.Over the last decade the magazine has grown to cult status and is now avidly followed by thousands of Japanese teenagers who also use the magazine as an opportunity to check out the latest styles and trends.
Pictures in this book are really good, and the fahsion… well unbelievable. Surely, it’s inspiring.

Nipon Design
I’m always amazed by japanese creativity and designs. A good way to find out new stuff in Tokyo is Jean Snow’s Blog.
Other inspirations of nipon art would be the Superflat movement. I found a fabulous piece here at the Giant Robot Store by Chiho Aoshima.

“La pellicule hors foyer”
Très intéressant article dans Le Devoir aujourd’hui sur l’avenir de la photographie argentique à cause de l’ascension du numérique.
Dans cette boulimie d’images qu’entraîne l’usage des appareils numériques, personne pourtant ne semble trop se rendre compte que c’est toute la façon d’envisager la photographie qui se trouve à basculer.
